Stefanie Taushanoff has a doctorate in Chemical Physics from Kent State University’s Liquid Crystal Institute (LCI, now the AMLCI). Her main interests are optical and thermal characterization of soft matter films for optical applications, with her most recent experience in characterizing liquid crystal diffractive optical elements for AR/VR applications. She’s got a talent for executing long-term multi-stage experiments for closed loop analysis, risk assessment and RCA, can build and manage interdisciplinary, multi-hazard lab and R&D fab spaces (always gets along with EHS) and enjoys creating a space where the chemists, process engineers and the optical engineers can learn to work together. Most recently, she has been training in machine learning and AI for materials science at the University of Washington and dabbling in graphic design.
